The artist Patane was a great character who could not go unnoticed. Eccentric, flamboyant, egotistical and sometimes weird, did not mince his words and this sometimes created controversy.
Neapolitan by birth and training cultural and artistic life in the last 10 years he moved with his wife Alda in Diamante, a beautiful town near the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria.
A Diamond (CS) Patané family was still at home having had their summer residence for over 25 years. The choiceof permanent Diamond had come mostly for health reasons because Arturo was fighting for years myelofibrosis, a serious form of leukemia, and doctors had advised him clean air and ’away from city stress.
Moving to Diamond Arturo Patané found his artistic talent and the desire to live with the support of his wonderfulwife Alda and ’friendliness of local people with whom he shared many good times animating the summer nightsdiamantesi since the mid 80s.
Arthur passed away in February of 2005 but contrary to what the doctors say, it was the disease he had fought with so much dignity for over 15 years to take him away, but the untimely death of his wife Alda died in December 2002.
The sons, Maximilian and Mauritius, want this site to pay tribute to a wonderful mother and a father to special andat the same time keep alive the many works left by the artist Arturo, works that deserve to be seen not only the family but also by many lovers of his painting.
